Speaker Bio
James E. Bruce is the director of the Center for Faith and Flourishing and a professor of philosophy at John Brown University. Educated at Dartmouth College, the University of Oxford, and Baylor University, Jay writes and lectures on philosophy, theology, politics, and economics — sometimes all at once.
His first book, Rights in the Law, explores the relationship between God and morality in the natural law theory of Francis Turretin (1623–1687). In addition to writing occasional pieces for, among others, Acton Commentary, Law and Liberty, The Gospel Coalition, The Wall Street Journal, and WORLD magazine, Jay is writing his second book, in which he argues that Christianity requires a particular conception of the relationship between justice and equality.

Dr. Bruce, his wife, and their four children live in Fayetteville. Ordained a teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church in America in October 2018, Dr. Bruce and his family delight to be a part of Covenant Church (PCA) where he serves as an associate pastor.
