Happy New Year to all of you! Our prayers and best wishes have been with our friends in Brazil, which has suffered as greatly as the USA under this pandemic. But I am optimistic that a new year will bring a return to normalcy for all of our lives. Certainly the pandemic has made more urgent our shared work to promote the important ideas of faith and freedom.

Very soon we will be opening registration for Acton University in Grand Rapids. We are presently planning to host a hybrid event with in-person attendees in Grand Rapids, as well as a virtual program welcoming people who cannot join us physically. Look for more information from Acton soon on how you can participate either physically or virtually.

Now the invitation: My colleague Alejandro Chafuen and I will be briefly in Brazil soon, and would like to invite all of our Acton alumni friends from every corner of Brazil to a dinner party in Sao Paulo on Tuesday, January 25th. It will be held at Rubaiyat, one of the finest restaurants in Sao Paulo, beginning with cocktails at 7pm. You will certainly be our guests at the dinner itself. Related travel expenses will unfortunately, be your responsibility. I recognize that some of you cannot afford the time away or the expense to travel to this dinner. I am sorry for that. On a future visit, we will try to have similar gatherings in other parts of Brazil to include more Alumni. We do need to limit the dinner to the first 50 who can confirm their attendance so please review your schedule and register as soon as possible.

I’m looking forward to seeing you on January 25th, renewing friendships and discussing ways we can continue to work together in the coming year.
