Concordia University Chicago
Russell P. Dawn is President of Concordia University Chicago, a Christ-centered Lutheran university founded in 1864. While the mainstream of higher education tends to reject the truth found in Holy Scripture, Dr. Dawn leads Concordia-Chicago in its embrace of biblical faith as the foundation of rigorous education. He has three degrees from Oxford University, including a doctorate in the history of Christian thought. He also has advanced degrees in law and business from the University of Colorado. An award-winning historian, he has taught in History, Political Thought, Theology, and Religious Studies. Prior to his academic career, he practiced corporate law in Denver, Colorado. He is devoted to his wife and two daughters, dotes on his three small dogs, and is dedicated to swimming, sarcasm, and the Oxford comma.
